چکیده

objective: basal fsh levels reflect ovarian response and more formed embryos. we investigated a reliable fsh range to retrieve more oocytes and embryos. materials and methods: two hundred patients in art cycles underwent this study from apr 2007 to sep 2008. patients were divided in three groups based on value of fsh: group a≤8 iu/ml, 8 iu/ml < group b≤10 iu/ml, group c>10 iu/ml and results of art cycles were compared with each other. results: retrieved and fertilized oocytes and transferred embryos in group a differed significantly in comparison with group b and c (p<0.05), but pregnancy rates in three groups were comparable. conclusion: in our study the reliable range of fsh level to predict more retrieved oocytes and embryos was ≤8 iu/ml.

An elevated basal FSH reflects a quantitative rather than qualitative decline of the ovarian reserve.

BACKGROUND Many cycling women with elevated basal FSH level have been discouraged from undergoing IVF treatment. This is because elevated basal FSH is associated with poorer assisted reproduction treatment outcome. It has been argued that high FSH reflects not only reduced ovarian reserve but also poor oocyte quality. The aim of this study is to assess the value of treating cycling women who ha...

Assessment of ovarian reserve. Ovarian biopsy is not a valid method for the prediction of ovarian reserve.

The evaluation of ovarian reserve, often critical for the elderly infertile woman, is notoriously difficult and inaccurate. The place of ovarian biopsy in this evaluation has been hotly disputed for three decades, but not resolved. To examine the feasibility of ovarian biopsy for this purpose, a project was designed to estimate the total number of oocytes in a human ovary and investigate whethe...

I-32: Management of Diminished Ovarian Reserve

The standard goal of all fertility treatments is the improvement of pregnancy rates in infertile patients. Within the last 20 years, ovulation induction has contributed to the success of assisted reproduction techniques e.g. in vitro fertilization (IVF) and embryo-transfer (ET). The efficacy of these techniques depends on a personalized protocol of controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) and ...

Repeated clomiphene citrate challenge testing in the prediction of outcome in IVF: a comparison with basal markers for ovarian reserve.

BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to investigate the predictive accuracy and clinical value of performing either a single or a repeated clomiphene citrate challenge test (CCCT) in predicting poor response in IVF, compared to that of currently used basal ovarian reserve markers. METHODS Sixty-three patients undergoing their first IVF treatment were prospectively included. After measurement ...

P-206: Genetic Variations of FSH Receptor Gene in Patients with Premature Ovarian Failure and Diminished Ovarian Reserve Referred to Royan Institute

Background: Immaturity of the ovarian follicles results in an infertility citation called Premature Ovarian Failure (POF), affecting approximately 1% of women under the age of 40. Women with this disorder go through early menopause and have high levels of gonadotropin hormones (FSH & LH). Diminished Ovarian Reserve (DOR) is another infertility disorder in which women’s ovaries have the ability ...

analysis of ovarian reserve markers (amh, fsh, afc) in different age strata in ivf/icsi patients

background: the predictive roles of follicle stimulating hormone (fsh), anti-mullerian hormone (amh) and antral follicle count (afc) as ovarian reserve markers in women with different age groups are not established well. objective: this study compares the value of fsh, amh and afc at the time of     in vitro fertilization (ivf) treatment in different age groups. materials and methods: in this c...
